LAWRENCE At around 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, Lawrence Police Dispatch transmitted to the Lawrence Police Department that the North Andover Police Department was pursuing suspects in an armed robbery.
The suspects were driving a Honda CRV as they fled into Lawrence via Marston Street.
Members of the Special Operations and Detective Divisions, as well as several Lawrence patrol units, rushed to the scene to offer assistance.
The suspects escaped on foot into neighboring residential communities and woodland areas after crashing close to Marston Street.
Lawrence units established a containment perimeter and started a systematic search with the help of human resources, drones, K9 units, and the MSP Air Wing. They were joined by officers from the North Andover Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police, the Methuen Police Department, the Essex County Sheriff’s Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
One suspect was arrested by Lawrence authorities following a brief foot pursuit.
Three further suspects were seen hiding in a crawl space beneath the double-decker bridge, tucked between the foundation and a support beam, by a Lawrence police on a road detail as the hunt went on.
After being told to turn themselves in one by one, the suspects were apprehended without any further drama.
