AUBURN — Members of the Auburn Police Department were dispatched to an address on Van Anden Street on June 17 for an unknown trouble complaint regarding a male calling 911 with yelling in the background.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with multiple occupants within the residence, including the defendant, Michael R. Lucas, of Auburn.
During the course of the investigation, it was learned that Lucas forced his way into the victim’s bedroom by breaking down the door.
Once within, Lucas threatened the victim’s life, and attempted to hit the victim in the head with a baseball bat.
While attempting to do so, Lucas damaged the victim’s television.
As a result of the investigation, Lucas was charged with Attempted Assault in the Second Degree (E Felony), Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree (E Felony), and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (D Felony).
Lucas was transported to the Cayuga County Jail for arraignment where he was issued an Order of Protection and released on his own recognizance.
