On June 13, a Greenfield man was taken into custody by WILTON State Police on suspicion of possessing and spreading photos of child sexual exploitation.
Anthony J. Badali, 32, is charged with both possessing a child’s sexual performance (a class E felony) and encouraging a child’s sexual performance (a class D felony).
Additionally, he is charged with two counts of third-degree and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
An investigation that started with an online tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led to the arrest.
With support from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, and the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, State Police carried out a search warrant at Badali’s Greenfield home on June 13.
Investigators found two illegally obtained weapons and a high-capacity magazine during the search.
After being taken to State Police Wilton, Badali underwent processing and was taken into custody.
In lieu of $5,000 cash, a $10,000 bail, or a $50,000 partially secured bond, he was committed to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility after being arraigned in Milton Town Court.
