WATERTOWN At 10:12 p.m. on June 23, state police were called to a residence on Ridge Road in the town of Watertown in connection with a reported knife-related domestic altercation.
After arriving on the scene, troopers conducted interviews with the parties.
Troops were informed by a male victim that a woman had broken into his home without his consent, hit him in the head with a dragon sculpture, and then chased after him with a knife.
Troopers discovered the man with blood streaming down his face, grasping his head.
After being assessed on the spot by emergency medical personnel, he was taken by ambulance to Samaritan Medical Center for additional care.
During their investigation, troopers held Watertown resident Heather L. Gilbert, 48, in custody.
Following the investigation, Gilbert was taken into custody and charged with second-degree assault, second-degree menacing, second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal contempt for violating an order of protection, and third-degree criminal possession of a firearm.
After being processed at SP Watertown, Gilbert was taken to Jefferson County CAP Court and placed under $500 bond.
