Man charged with DUI after rollover crash injures juveniles in Dorset

DORSET A rollover collision that wounded two young passengers on Sunday night led to the charging of a 27-year-old Schenectady, New York man with driving under the influence of drugs.

According to Vermont State Police, at 8:27 p.m., Haman Brijraj was operating a 2023 Kia Sportage on Vermont Route 7A close to U.S. Route 7 when the car flipped over.

Vermont State Police arrived on the scene after the Manchester Police Department and Northshire Rescue Squad.

According to investigators, Brijraj suffered multiple injuries in the collision despite wearing a seat belt.

The rollover also hurt the two young passengers.

For medical care, all three were taken to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

Brijraj showed indications of impairment at the scene, according to the police.

The collision completely destroyed the 2023 Kia Sportage.

At the time of the occurrence, the roads were dry and the weather was fine.

Brijraj received citations for two charges of reckless endangerment and DUI drug use.

On September 8 at 8:30 a.m., he is expected to appear in Vermont Superior Court in Bennington.
