Utica man charged with burglary after breaking into dollar store

UTICA Police said a 42-year-old man was apprehended after breaking into a Dollar General shop and leaving with stolen goods through a shattered window.

At around 9:30 p.m. on June 28, Utica Police units were called to the Dollar General located on the 1500 block of Genesee Street in reference to a burglary alarm that had resulted in a shattered front glass.

When officers arrived on the scene, they saw a man carrying items from the store as he left through the broken window.

After being taken into custody right away, the man was taken to the Utica Police Department.

Utica resident Joshua Marcantel was accused of petit larceny and third-degree burglary.
