HOMER On June 30, Jason Allen, 40, of Liverpool, was taken into custody by New York State Police on felony charges related to an embezzlement investigation at a nearby car dealership.
Allen is charged with second-degree forgery and third-degree grand larceny, both Class D felonies.
The arrest comes after an investigation into claims that Allen embezzled over $13,000 while working at an auto business in Cortland County, which started on June 19.
Allen is accused by the police of authorizing the referral checks to himself while signing them for dealership clients.
Allen was taken to the Cortland County Jail for a consolidated arraignment after being processed at State Police Homer.
