OWEGO During the week of June 23–29, the Owego Police Department handled 127 service requests.
Ten traffic citations were issued, and five people were arrested.
No reports of car crashes were made.
After being reported as a danger to herself, an 18-year-old Binghamton girl was placed under mental health hold.
For treatment, she was sent to a hospital.
Owego resident Donald C. Lovejoy, 64, was taken into custody after the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office issued a petit larceny warrant for his failure to show up for DWI hearings.
In addition, he was charged with incorrect exhaust, following too closely, unlicensed driving, and aggravated unlicensed operation.
For arraignment, he was handed up to Cortland County officials.
After a traffic stop and brief pursuit on North Avenue, Greg A. Whalen, 48, of Owego, was taken into custody for obstruction of governmental administration, failure to keep right, passing a red signal, and incorrect hand signal.
He received tickets that needed to be returned to Owego Village Court.

For treatment, she was sent to a hospital.
Vestal resident Scott E. Walter, 57, was taken into custody for trespassing and looked into in relation to a Main Street break-in.
A returnable appearance ticket to Owego Village Court was issued to him.
