Cherryfield officials seek information on illegal dumping of construction debris, deer parts

The Cherry Field An illegal dumping case involving the disposal of construction debris and deer parts on private property between Rocky Ridge and Baseline Road is being investigated by the Maine Warden Service.

The debris was discovered on property that belonged to Wyman’s, one of the biggest private landowners in Maine who allows the public to use their area for recreational purposes.

Officials stated that while they have a number of solid leads in the case, they are still requesting further information from the public.

The Maine Warden Service can be reached at 207-973-3700 via Bangor State Police Dispatch by anyone with information.

Anyone who knows the offender is urged to encourage them to give themselves in, according to the warden service.

This is the second instance of unlawful dumping at the same site.

During the annual Landowner Appreciation Cleanup Day last fall, volunteers and game wardens cleaned up the area.

According to officials, one of the main causes for private landowners in Maine to decide to block public access to their properties is littering.
