Vernon man arrested on drug charges after found unresponsive in vehicle

VERNON Police discovered a 47-year-old man unconscious behind the wheel of a car on Murray Road on Monday, leading to his arrest on drug-related charges.

According to the South Windsor Police Department, William L. Laurinaitis was arrested at 10:23 a.m. after it was reported that a male passenger had passed out in a car and was not responding.

Officers found two glass smoking pipes and about seven wax folds containing fentanyl throughout the investigation.

Laurinaitis was accused of possessing a restricted substance and using drug paraphernalia.

A $5,000 non-surety bond was used to process and release him.

On Wednesday, July 16 at 9 a.m., Laurinaitis is expected to appear in Manchester Superior Court.
