New York man arrested in Brasher strangulation case

BRASHER On June 30, Larry D. Ryan, 54, of Winthrop, was taken into custody by New York State Police on charges of criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation.

At at 8:22 p.m., troopers were called to a violent incident on Dullea Road.

According to their investigation, the victim and Ryan got into a physical altercation after arguing verbally.

Ryan grabbed the victim during the confrontation and put pressure on their neck with his hands.

When a witness called the police, the victim was able to flee.

Before police could reach him, Ryan ran from the scene, but he was eventually found and taken into custody.

For processing, he was brought to SP Winthrop.

Ryan was freed on a ticket to appear in the Town of Brasher Court in July.
