Celebrate World Photography Day by showing NPR the coolest shot you’ve ever captured

Published On:

World Photography Day has honored the fact that images frequently express more than words ever could for many years. The day honors the development of the daguerreotype, a photographic method created in 1837, and was first observed on August 19, 1991. Since then, photography has developed into a potent narrative tool. NPR wants you to share the backstory of your favorite photo you’ve ever shot in honor of the day’s significance.

On August 17, your story might appear in the Up First newsletter. Tell us about your favorite photo using the form below. Additionally, you can send a voice message or upload the picture. You should take the pictures and leave them unaltered.

Responses must be sent by August 6th.

Subscribe to our newsletter to see some of your responses and to receive the news you need to start your day.

We will use our normal Terms of Use and Privacy Policy to govern your submission. As stated in the Privacy Policy, we would like you to be aware that there may be situations in which your potential privacy rights may be superseded by legal exemptions for freedom of expression or journalistic activity.
