A Brooklyn man was taken into custody by ALBANY State Police early on June 7 after he eluded a traffic stop and hurt a trooper while being taken into custody.

Nkosi S. King, 51, was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree assault, resisting arrest, second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, and violation of traffic and vehicle laws.

At around 4 a.m., troopers pulled King’s car down on Clinton Avenue for a moving violation.

King escaped on foot, but after a short chase, he was apprehended.

King was determined to be in possession of felony-weight drugs and persisted in resisting arrest.

King’s actions resulted in injuries to the arresting trooper.

King was taken for processing to State Police Latham.

He was committed to the Albany County Correctional Facility without bail after being charged in Albany City Court.
