Clifton Park man arrested in auto shop burglary

CLIFTON PARK — A 54-year-old Ballston Spa man was arrested Tuesday on felony charges stemming from a burglary at Lake Auto on Schauber Road.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office received the burglary complaint June 11 at 6:43 a.m.

Donald J. Koenig was charged with burglary in the third degree, a class D felony, along with criminal mischief in the third degree and grand larceny in the fourth degree, both class E felonies.

Authorities say Koenig knowingly entered and remained unlawfully within the business with intent to commit a crime.

He is accused of intentionally damaging a glass window belonging to the business valued at more than $250.

Koenig also allegedly stole more than $2,000 from the establishment.

He was arraigned before Judge Timothy M. Brown in Milton Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail.

Further proceedings will be held in Clifton Park Town Court.
