CORTLANDVILLE A Cortland man was taken into custody by New York State Police on June 19 on felony and misdemeanor charges related to an alleged incident of gun threats.
Spencer L. Dafoe, 34, was accused with menacing with a weapon in the second degree, a misdemeanor, and criminal contempt in the first degree, a class E felony.
On June 17, troopers from SP Homer responded to a threatening report on Cortlandville’s State Route 13.
Police say an investigation found Dafoe used a gun to threaten a victim.
According to authorities, the victim is protected by a court-ordered complete keep away order from Dafoe.
On an outstanding warrant, Dafoe was also charged with criminal contempt in the second degree, a misdemeanor, for allegedly contacting a victim in violation of a court-ordered full stay away order of protection.
After being processed, Dafoe was sent to the Cortland County Jail to be arraigned centrally.
