DRACUT — The Dracut Police and Fire Departments responded to a deadly motorbike crash on Tuesday, according to Police Chief Peter Bartlett and Fire Chief Michael Cunha.
At around 3:44 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, Dracut Police and Fire received a complaint of a motor scooter crash at the vicinity of 189 Merrimack Ave. (Route 110).
When first responders got there, they discovered a bystander administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation to a male adult operator.
Care was taken over by Pridestar Trinity EMS and Dracut Fire Department personnel.
After being taken to Lowell General Hospital/Main Campus, the adult male was declared deceased.
According to the preliminary investigation, a 43-year-old Lowell resident named Michael Lacrosse was riding a motorbike west on Route 110 when he veered into the eastbound lane and struck a car being driven by a 50-year-old Methuen woman.
The woman from Methuen stayed on the site and is currently assisting with the inquiry.
The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section are assisting the Dracut Police Department in their ongoing investigation.
