CLINTON On Tuesday, June 17 at around 11:53 a.m., troopers from the State Police Rhinebeck barracks responded to a report of criminal mischief at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, 140 Lake Drive, Town of Clinton.
Troopers arrived to find about thirty automobiles on the property, each with at least one slashed tire.
Evidence of a break-in at the facility’s kitchen was also discovered during additional inquiry.
Michael V. Fitzpatrick, 27, of Pine Plains, NY, a former employee who was recently fired from his kitchen duties at the institute, was found to be the cause of the damage after Troopers and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation conducted an investigation.
Fitzpatrick was charged with third-degree burglary, a D felony for unlawful entrance with intent to commit a crime, after being taken into custody on Wednesday, June 18.
In addition, he was charged with 31 counts of third-degree criminal mischief, which is an E felony for causing damage to another person’s property worth more than $250.
Fitzpatrick was freed under probationary monitoring after being charged in the Town of Clinton Court.
His court date is set for Thursday, August 7 at 4:00 p.m.
The inquiry is still under progress.
