Fort Kent crash sends two to hospital after Corvette strikes tree

Fort Kent At before 8:30 p.m. on June 21, a single-vehicle collision on Caribou Road sent two persons to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Fort Kent Police Department.

Following a 2025 Chevrolet Corvette leaving the southbound lane, crossing the centerline, and leaving the left side of the road, the Fort Kent Fire and Ambulance Service and police arrived on the scene.

The car went along an incline, hit a tree, and ended up in a ditch, according to officials.

A female passenger was removed from the car by Fort Kent firefighters using the Jaws of Life.

The vehicle’s registered owner, a 46-year-old man named Reed Devoe of Eagle Lake, was discovered next to the car with head injuries and received emergency medical attention.

Northern Maine Medical Center received both of the occupants via ambulance.

The injuries were initially deemed serious but not life-threatening, according to authorities.

On-scene assistance was provided by a Presque Isle Police Department accident reconstructionist.

While emergency personnel worked and officials carried out their roadside investigation, Caribou Road was briefly closed.

Maine State Police and the U.S. Border Patrol provided assistance to the Fort Kent Police Department.

The crash is still being looked into.
