GARDEN CITY — A 21-year-old Franklin Square man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly inappropriately touching an 11-year-old girl at a Sephora store, police said.
Riken Acharya was at the store at 630 Old Country Road at 5:54 p.m. when the incident occurred, according to Nassau County police detectives.
Acharya fled the scene after the alleged assault, police said.
Responding officers located Acharya nearby and arrested him without incident.
He was charged with sexual abuse in the first degree and endangering the welfare of a child.
Detectives are asking anyone who believes they were a victim of a similar incident to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911.
All callers will remain anonymous, police said.
