Harpersfield man charged with criminal contempt after alleged violation of order of protection

HARPERSFIELD Authorities claim that a resident of Harpersfield violated an active order of protection, leading to his arrest on June 16 on criminal contempt charges.

Deputies were sent out Tuesday morning after a report of an order violation in Harpersfield, according to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.

Joshua M. Meyers, 34, was found to have had illicit communication with the individual covered by the order by investigators.

Meyers was accused of one count of second-degree criminal contempt, which is a class A misdemeanor in New York.

He was arraigned in Delaware County CAP Court after being processed at the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.

Meyers’ bail was set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 secured bond, and he was committed to the Delaware County Jail.
