Johnstown man arrested on weapons charges after brandishing firearm

JOHNSTOWN — State Police arrested Gerald D. Johnson, 56 of Wildomar, CA for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree, Menacing in the second degree, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree.

On May 30 at about 1:33 a.m., troopers responded to the area of Fifth Avenue Extension for the report of a man brandishing a firearm in a parking lot.

On arrival, troopers located the victims who reported Johnson displayed and pointed a handgun at them.

The investigation discovered two illegally possessed loaded unserialized handguns, an illegal high-capacity magazine and multiple glass smoking devices containing controlled substance residue in Johnson’s vehicle.

Johnson was arrested and transported to SP Mayfield for processing.

He was then transported to the Fulton County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
