LIMA — A 61-year-old man was arrested Tuesday on charges he allowed another person to use his food stamps while he was incarcerated.
Jay J. Cole of Pine Trail was charged with misuse of food stamps, according to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies allege Cole knowingly gave permission for another person to use his food stamps in January while he was in jail.
Cole was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Village of Bath Court at a later date.
The investigation involved the Steuben County Department of Social Services Fraud and Legal Affairs Unit and the District Attorney’s Office.
