Lyndon man arrested on assault, threatening charges

LYNDON After a physical fight and threatening incident on Lynburke Road on June 29, a 48-year-old man was taken into custody.

On the way to the St. Johnsbury barracks, Vermont State Police were informed that there had been a violent altercation after responding to a report of criminal threats.

Following an investigation, officers determined that there was probable cause for three counts of criminal threatening, simple assault, and aggravated disorderly conduct by Tristan Barrett of Lyndon.

According to police, Barrett actively resisted when troopers tried to arrest him.

The victims were identified as Donald Shiflett, 71, of Lyndon; Randall McKinstry, 69, of Lyndon; Gary Barrett, 71, of Lyndon; Aimee Little, 44, of Lyndon; and Samuel Hazard, 47, of Lyndon.

Barrett was taken to Northeast Regional Correctional Center in lieu of $400 bail after being processed at the St. Johnsbury barracks.

He is accused of resisting arrest, aggravated disorderly behavior, criminal threats, and simple assault.
