On June 6, a 23-year-old male was taken into custody by WYNANTSKILL State Police on suspicion of child sexual exploitation.

The charges against Alexander V. Mills of Wynantskill were possessing a child’s sexual performance, a class E felony, and encouraging a child’s sexual performance, a class D felony.

Mills is charged with having and disseminating photographs that support child sex exploitation.

The arrest came after a search warrant was executed and investigated at his previous Watervliet home on June 6.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children provided a cyber tip that sparked the inquiry.

With support from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, and the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, State Police from Latham made the arrest.

After being taken to State Police Latham, Mills underwent processing.

On June 17, he was released after receiving an appearance ticket that was to be returned to Watervliet Town Court.
