After using a police dog to search an apartment complex today, Manchester police discovered a missing 5-year-old girl safe and unhurt.
The Manchester Police Department said that after receiving a report of the missing youngster, patrol units arrived at an apartment complex.
K9 Dakota was sent in to help with the search after officers started it.
Dakota followed the scent to another neighboring building, using an item of clothes the child had worn the previous evening.
Dakota took officers to the building’s third story after following the scent.
Safe and unhurt, the toddler was discovered strolling inside the structure.
The girl and her mother were reunited.
For a job well done, K9 Dakota was rewarded with a ball.
