New London police arrest 2 on drug charges

NEW LONDON — Two men were arrested on narcotics charges Monday afternoon during a police operation in the area of Gov. Winthrop Boulevard and Meridian Street.

The arrests were made at approximately 12:34 p.m. by members of the New London Police Department’s Narcotics Unit.

Donald Richardson, 42, of 160 Coventry St., apt. #2B, Bloomfield, was charged with sale of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance (two counts), possession of narcotics with intent to sell (two counts), and possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 200 feet of a school (two counts).

Frank Debartolo, 61, of 237 West Main St., apt. #329, Niantic, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Police seized approximately 11.5 grams of crack cocaine and approximately 15.1 grams of fentanyl as evidence.
