North Greenbush man faces child exploitation, weapon charges after police search

North Greenbush After an investigation into the alleged possession and promotion of photos of child sexual exploitation and illegal firearms, a man from North Greenbush was taken into custody on Wednesday, according to police.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the North Greenbush Police Department, the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, and the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce helped State Police of Schodack apprehend Evan C. Hennessy Yunck, 43, on June 25.

According to the authorities, Hennessy Yunck is charged with six counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a class D felony, as well as promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class D felony, and possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony.

After receiving an online tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, investigators carried out a search warrant at Hennessy Yunck’s home in North Greenbush on Wednesday.

During the search, police claimed to have found pictures that were consistent with child sex exploitation and confiscated three unlawfully obtained firearms and several illegally obtained high-capacity magazines.

Before Hennessy Yunck was arraigned at the North Greenbush Town Court, he was sent to SP Schodack for processing.

Rather of paying $35,000 in cash or posting a $350,000 bond, he was remanded to the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility.
