NORTH HAVEN — North Haven officers assisted the East Haven Police Department in attempting to arrest 24-year-old Jovierre Reveron, of New Haven, for a family violence incident at approximately 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.
East Haven Police believed Reveron was at 1031 Hartford Turnpike and responded to that location with North Haven officers.
Upon arrival to the residence, Reveron was uncooperative and in possession of a rifle.
Reveron was contained to the residence and the South-Central Regional SWAT Team was activated.
Negotiators spoke with Reveron for hours attempting to convince him to safely exit the home and surrender.
At about 7:30 a.m. Reveron surrendered and was taken into custody without any injuries to him or any officers.
Throughout the duration of this event the regional SWAT team controlled the scene.
There was no threat to the public as Reveron was contained the entire time.
North Haven Detectives are working with the State’s Attorney’s Office to acquire search and arrest warrants for Reveron.
He also is charged with unrelated crimes by the East Haven Police Department.
All roads are now accessible.
