North Haven woman charged with assault in April knife attack

NORTH HAVEN A 37-year-old woman from North Haven has been taken into custody in relation to an April knife attack that seriously injured a victim’s chest.

According to the North Haven Police Department, Brittany Young is being held on $200,000 bond after being charged with first-degree assault.

On April 20 at around 8:15 p.m., police were called to a complaint of a person in the road on Overbrook Road who had been stabbed in the chest and torso.

The victim received emergency medical attention from officers, who also searched the area.

Before the police came, the suspect had already left the area.

Detectives from North Haven located a suspect, took preliminary interviews, and documented evidence.

Detectives obtained electronic forensic evidence linked to the incident by executing various search and seizure warrants in collaboration with the New Haven State’s Attorney’s Office.

After the inquiry, a judge produced and signed an arrest warrant.

On July 3, North Haven detectives found and captured Young.
