After detectives found a stolen car on the Stroffolino Bridge and pursued the driver, NORWALK Police arrested a 19-year-old woman and a minor on June 29.
According to the Norwalk Police Department, officers made an effort to securely restrain the car because of the high volume of traffic and nearby pedestrians.
Police said the young driver started driving recklessly, made a dangerous U-turn that almost hit a police cruiser, and then smashed into oncoming traffic.
When officers made controlled contact with the car, it became unusable.
The car was stopped, and both occupants escaped into Veterans Park on foot.
Without any problems, police apprehended Nevaeh Williams, the young driver and passenger.
The young person is charged with motor vehicle theft, interference, reckless driving, and pursuing police.
The charges against Williams, 19, of 54 Fairview Ave., Apt. 5, Stratford, were motor vehicle larceny and interference with an officer.
Both were freed with the assurance that they will show up, and their court date is July 15.
