Palmyra women arrested second time after dog bites 2 juveniles

Palmyra Two adolescents were hurt in a dog biting incident that resulted in the second arrest of two Palmyra women.

According to the Palmyra Police Department, Amy M. Pettey, 46, and Jezmariah T. Lagrand, 25, were taken into custody on June 19 in relation to an incident that occurred in front of 124 Market St. on June 8 at 7:30 p.m.

According to police, the women let their dog bite two children in the same occurrence because they were unable to keep it under control.

According to the police, the dog is known to be careless and poses a significant risk of causing serious physical harm to members of the neighborhood.

Police and Palmyra’s Animal Control Officer have called both women multiple times because the dog is out and about, pursuing and biting people.

The Animal Control Officer has given tickets to Pettey and Lagrand, who have both been charged with second-degree reckless endangerment but have refused to make amends, according to the police.

Lagrand was accused of one count of second-degree reckless endangerment.

Pettey was charged with one count of resisting arrest and one count of second-degree reckless endangerment.

After completing the Palmyra Police Department’s processing, both women were given appearance tickets and told to show up at Palmyra Village Court on August 5 at 5:00 at night.
