Police seek witnesses in New Hartford hit-and-run crash

HARTFORD, NEW An 82-year-old pedestrian was hurt in a hit-and-run accident Wednesday night, and the New Hartford Police Department is looking into the incident.

At 9:20 p.m., police and fire personnel were called to the scene of a car hitting a pedestrian in the Park Street parking lot of New Hartford Presbyterian Church.

According to authorities, Barbara Wuest of Utica was hit by an unidentified car that ran away from the scene while she was out on foot.

Wuest received medical assistance at the scene from the New Hartford Fire Department.

Wuest suffered severe but non-life-threatening injuries to her lower body and was flown to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse via Life Net helicopter.

The inquiry is being conducted by the Criminal inquiry Division of the New Hartford Police Department.

Anyone who saw the crash or knows anything about it is being asked by the police to call the New Hartford Police Department and request to speak with an investigator.
