Rhode Island man arrested on DUI charges after Route 95 crash

Andrew T. Sullivan, 33, of Westerly, was taken into custody by HOPE VALLEY Troopers on Saturday at 11:41 a.m. for driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and refusing to submit to a chemical test.

An inquiry into a car accident on Route 95 in the Town of Richmond led to the arrest.

Sullivan was charged with a first offense of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of unknown and a second offense of refusing to submit to a chemical test.

A Justice of the Peace processed and arraigned Sullivan after he was taken to the Hope Valley Barracks.

Later, he was freed with a date set for the Fourth Division District Court.
