Spring Valley woman arrested on weapon, drug charges in Hillcrest

HILLCREST The Town of Ramapo Police Department reports that during a traffic check early Friday morning, a 46-year-old woman from the Spring Valley was taken into custody on drug and weapon charges.

A car with several infractions, including inoperable lights and a suspended registration, was spotted by police on a nocturnal patrol.

Officers found a weapon, suspected drugs, and other items in the car after starting the traffic check.

Crack cocaine, a.25-caliber revolver, and drug paraphernalia were discovered with the driver.

She was accused of many infractions of traffic and vehicle laws, as well as criminal possession of a weapon and a controlled substance.

In anticipation of her subsequent court appearances, the defendant was arraigned and freed on her own recognizance.
