Stamford police investigate death of man found unresponsive in vehicle

The death of a man discovered unconscious in a car on Tuesday afternoon is being looked into by STAMFORD police.

At at 1:50 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of Avery Street and Cove Road after receiving a report of a male unconscious inside a car.

The caller claimed that they had pounded on the windows in an attempt to rouse the man, but he was not responding.

Additionally, Stamford Emergency Medical Services and Stamford Fire Rescue arrived on the site.

Mark Pjetri, a 43-year-old Stamford resident, was confirmed as the man and declared dead at the spot.

Whether the incident is criminal in nature has not been decided by the police.

The inquiry into the case is still ongoing.
