HERKIMER Numerous complaints about people operating illegal automobiles in the Town of Russia’s Russia and Military Roads are being sent to New York State Police.
Juveniles are frequently operating ATVs, UTVs, and dirt motorcycles dangerously without the necessary safety gear and frequently in violation of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws, according to a large portion of the material sent to state police.
Throughout the summer, State Police Herkimer will monitor these areas to provide education and take appropriate enforcement action against anyone operating outside of the state’s vehicle and traffic laws.
The Herkimer County District Attorney’s Office and the State Police will also look into particular situations involving minors acting in this way, and they will prosecute anyone responsible for enabling these acts.
