Suffern man arrested on lewdness, touching charges in Clarkstown

Donald Hopkins, 74, of Suffern, was detained and processed by Clarkstown State Police on June 21 for public lewdness and forceful touching.

According to a preliminary investigation, the victim was driving Hopkins to an appointment in Yonkers on I-87 southbound in the town of Clarkstown on June 19 at around 1 p.m.

According to the results of an inquiry, Hopkins exposed himself and handled the victim improperly while they were in the car without their permission.

Hopkins was accused with forceful touching, a Class A misdemeanor, and public lewdness, a Class B misdemeanor.

On July 7, Hopkins received an appearance ticket that he was to return to Clarkstown Town Court.

The inquiry is still under progress.
