Syracuse man crashes box truck into railroad bridge

At 2:03 p.m. on June 20, SALINA State Police were called to the Onondaga Lake Parkway in response to a car that had collided with the CSX railroad bridge.

Anthony J. Harrison, 29, of Syracuse, was driving a 2020 Hino box truck south on the Onondaga Lake Parkway when troopers arrived on the scene and conducted an investigation.

Harrison disregarded warnings about a low bridge and signage prohibiting commercial vehicles.

Harrison struck the CSX railroad bridge as he went south.

Harrison was not hurt in the collision, nor was a passenger.

The Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit of the New York State Police arrived on the scene.

Ten counts of NYS VTL 1110 0A (Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device) were among the several traffic tickets Harrison received.
