Utica police investigate early morning shooting after gunfire alerts

UTICA — Police responded to gunfire alerts in the early morning hours of June 16 after receiving two “Shots Spotter” notifications at 2:28 a.m.

The alerts indicated gunfire on the 1100 blocks of Green and City streets.

Officers recovered several spent bullet casings on Green Street.

A bullet projectile was recovered from a second-floor window of a residence on the 100 block of City Street.

The Utica Police Department Major Crimes Unit has been assigned to investigate the incident.
