Waterbury police arrest 2 in drug operation raids

Waterbury On June 25 at around 5:45 a.m., members of the CT State Police Violent Crimes Task Force and the Waterbury Police Department’s Vice and Intelligence Unit, Crime Prevention Unit, Auto Theft Task Force, Gang Task Force, Community Relations Division, and Detective Bureau executed eight search and seizure warrants at various locations in Waterbury and Wolcott.

Two cars and the person of Lavaughn Freeman, 32, of Waterbury, were searched as part of the warrants.

Drug paraphernalia, 30 grams of fentanyl, 16.3 grams of cocaine, $1,000 in US money, 21.1 grams of crack cocaine, and over 1,200 bags of heroin were found by police during the investigation.

Freeman was accused of operating a drug factory illegally, possessing drugs with the intent to sell, having one ounce or more of heroin or fentanyl, and having half an ounce or more of freebase cocaine.

Waterbury resident William Kee, 35, was charged with tampering with evidence, operating a drug factory illegally, possessing drugs with the intent to sell, possessing one ounce or more of heroin or fentanyl, and possessing half an ounce or more of freebase cocaine.
