Waterville Police claim that a 47-year-old Latham man sexually attacked a lady while doing maintenance work in front of a kid, leading to charges of rape and other offenses.
After an inquiry into a sexual assault that was reported to Watervliet Police on June 26 at around 12:30 p.m., Mohammad Ansar was taken into custody.
Police found that when Ansar was on the premises doing maintenance, he sexually attacked a female adult in front of a youngster.
Ansar faces charges of first-degree rape, a class B felony, second-degree burglary, a class C felony, and endangering a child’s welfare, a class A misdemeanor.
He was committed to the Albany County Correctional Facility without bail after being arraigned in Watervliet City Court.
According to Watervliet Police Chief William M. Rice, the conduct in this case is absolutely abhorrent.
This person displayed an abhorrent degree of depravity and a total contempt for human decency by not only violating an innocent woman in the most horrifying manner but also doing so in front of a child.
Rice claimed that during the investigation, Ansar shown no remorse.
According to Rice, his acts are disgusting and demonstrate a flagrant disrespect for the fundamental rules of morality, decency, and the law.
