West Seneca police report shoplifting, hit-and-run incidents

West Seneca On June 15, it was reported that two suspects, a 25-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man, had stolen from Bath & Body Works.

According to the loss prevention staff member who reported the crime, he saw the two smuggle around $600 worth of goods in their shopping bags before leaving the establishment.

He had seen them in previous stealing cases at other Bath & Body Works stores.

Both individuals have received criminal summonses accusing them of sixth-degree conspiracy and petit larceny.

While getting off the 219 into Ridge Road, a man reported that he was involved in a hit-and-run collision.

A Nissan SUV side-swiped his car as it swerved onto the shoulder to avoid him.

He was able to provide the authorities what he believed to be the striking car’s license plate number.

The motorist is being sought after by accident investigators.

On June 16, police and emergency medical services responded to a complaint of an unresponsive female with an unclear life status at a Seneca Creek Road location, leading to the arrest of a 33-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man.

To bring her back to life, officers had to give her rescue breaths and Narcan.

The heavily inebriated man and their one-year-old child were also inside the residence.

In the same vicinity as the infant, who was wailing and nude, there was an open bottle of booze.

Both the woman and the man become hostile and uncooperative with patrols after the woman was revived.

Both were taken into custody and accused of putting a child’s welfare in jeopardy.

A sober relative was left to look after the child.

On June 17, police were called to Garry Drive in response to a collision involving a town vehicle that caused property damage.

The elevated bed of one of the Highway Department’s dump trucks grabbed and tore down some cable and electric wires as it was traveling down the street.

Additionally, one of the residences had some minor siding damage.

Verizon and NYSEG stepped in to fix the cables.

Overnight on June 18, unknown individuals broke into the Staybridge Suites parking lot and caused damage to many cars.

According to one victim, a man from Georgia who was sleeping at the motel, the suspects took $700 in cash and a Glock weapon from his unlocked pickup.

Another victim saw damage to his windows, which appeared to have been caused by a tool used to smash glass.

Investigators are looking into it.

After a multi-vehicle collision on Orchard Park Road on June 19, a 67-year-old West Seneca woman was taken into custody for drunk driving.

The criminal impacted two northbound cars while she was traveling south and trying to pass another car on the left.

Officers noticed multiple little vodka bottles on the front seat, and a witness claimed to have seen her driving erratically.

In addition to failing field sobriety tests, the offender’s preliminary breathalyzer reading was.165%.

She faced DWI charges in addition to a few other driving violations.

After patrols arrived to look into reports of a motorbike traveling carelessly on the Seneca Street ramps from the 400, going in the opposite direction, and performing wheelies, a 24-year-old Buffalo man was taken into custody on June 20.

After being arrested, the suspect was charged with disorderly behavior, resisting arrest, and second-degree impeding governmental administration.

During Community Days on June 21, a hit-and-run accident happened on Legion Drive outside the American Legion Post. The Accident Investigation Unit is trying to get in touch with the suspected driver.

Two parked and empty cars were hit by a pickup truck leaving the Post’s parking area at around 9:30 p.m.

Its distinctive characteristics, such as stickers and chrome wheels, have allowed investigators to make a preliminary identification.

A resident of Treehaven Road stated that his car was stolen from his driveway by unidentified thieves.

Around four in the morning, he was startled awake by the sound of his car pulling out of his driveway.

Later that morning, the car was found in Buffalo, abandoned in an apartment complex parking lot, with the sunroof smashed and both sides damaged.

Detectives from the WSPD towed it and analyzed it for evidence.
